It was planned as the head office of a media company on the back road of Yanghwa-daero. Part of the building will be used directly by the owner, but some floors will be used as rental offices.

In some cases, buildings are planned based on programs or expected usage. However, it is impossible to accurately predict how certain buildings will be used, and in fact, all buildings have some degree of this uncertainty. Not all things are made on the basis of usage.

In this building, we tried to create an architecture that reached its own nature, not based on the expected use, not based on any extra-architectural sources. The building itself being the reason for its existence.

In language and logic, when things do not match, when two opposing beings coexist, it is said to be paradoxical. But in the world of objects, these distinctions are not really clear. Some things can be cold and warm at the same time. Some buildings can look hard and soft at the same time.

This building was designed to create a multi-directional oppositional relationship by intentionally arranging these contradictions on the same line, and to create an ever-changing sense of richness through the oppositional relationships. We’re try to make the building itself will show people the reason for its existence, even in situations where its use changes and disappears over time.
