에이디오는 팀 작업을 기반으로 합니다. 그래서 회사 내 스튜디오 문화 자체를 중요하게 생각합니다. 그러다 보니 당연하게도, 하나의 프로젝트에도 각 디자이너의 개별적인 시선이 담깁니다. 한 디자이너가 완전히 혼자 진행하는 프로젝트는 거의 없습니다.

저희는 때때로 상호 대립되는 시선이라고 하더라도, 프로젝트에 공존 시키려고 합니다. 물론 어떤 대립들은 결론을 내야 합니다. 그런 경우에도 서로 양보하며 중간으로 수렴하는 경우는 잘 없습니다. 특별하지 않은 시선과 그저 그런 사고들 사이에서 서로 절충하는 것은 의미가 없습니다.

저는 difference(차이)를 중요하게 생각합니다. 때때로 의미에 대한 판단을 유보하고, 그 자체로 존중하려고 합니다. 하지만 차이가 있어야 존중합니다. 다르다는 것은, 새롭다는 것은, 조금이나마 특별해야 합니다. 물론, 이 특별함은 건물의 형태적인 현란함만을 의미하지는 않습니다.

모든 프로젝트는 여러 디자이너의 개별적인 시선들이 존재합니다. 개인별 카테고리는 각각의 프로젝트의 담긴 개별적인 시선을 설명합니다. 건물은 항상 지어져야 가치가 생기지 않습니다. 모든 과정은 그 자체로 하나의 결과물입니다.

ADO is based on team work. That’s why we value the studio culture itself within the team. So, of course, each designer’s individual perspective is intervented in a single project. Any projects can’t be designed by one designer completely alone.

We try to coexist individuality in the project, even if we sometimes have conflicting ideas. Of course, some conflicts have to be concluded. Even in such a case, we do not concede each other or converge into the middle. There is no meaning in compromising between ordinary ideas and mediocre thinking.

I value difference. Sometimes I suspend judgment on meaning and try to respect it for its own sake. But there must be differences to be respected. To be different, to be new, must be a little unique. Of course, this uniqueness does not mean only the formal glitz of the building.

Every project has individual perspectives of several designers. Individual categories describe the personal perspective of each project. Buildings don’t always have to be built to be worthwhile. Every process has its own meaning itself.
