소설가들은 자신의 글 속에서 등장인물들이 자유로워지는 순간들이 있다고 합니다.
그들은 자신을 글쓴이가 아니라 자신이 만들어낸 등장인물들을 ‘따라다니는 사람’이라고 칭합니다.
비로소 이야기는 작가들의 의지와는 관계없이 홀로 흘러갑니다.

건축의 과정 또한 원고지 위에 이야기를 써내려 가는 과정과 같다고 생각합니다.
나에게, 사용자에게, 땅에게, 주변 건물에게, 건물 자신에게.
각자에게 다른 이야기로 쓰여질 건물이라 생각하며 자유롭고 규정할 수 없는 공간을 만들고자 합니다.

Novelists say there are moments in their writing when characters are freed.
They don’t refer to themselves as writers, but as ‘followers’ of the characters they create. Finally, the story flows alone regardless of the will of the writers.

I think the process of architecture is also like the process of writing a story on a manuscript paper.
